Washington State 2015 Common Core testing results – July 2, 2015

Common Core Testing (SBAC) – Preliminary Results released

For those of you following the discussion about Common Core and the new testing that went into effect this year OSPI (Washington State’s Dept. of Education) released the first report on results today.

You will find scores for 2014 (the final “practice testing” year) and 2015. Data represents 90% of the tests in English Language Arts and Math. The link provided in this post is from OSPI. I will follow up and share other interpretations of the data in further posts.

Please note that under a pending WA State House bill (if approved by the Senate) the Math test would be required for graduation. Note that ~70% of Juniors (11th grade) FAILED the test.
