Is collectivism in education in China better than what we have now?

There are those who say that the United States should make more of an effort to emulate China’s approach to education. They cite their belief that the structure, rigor and focus produces better results.

This woman shares her experiences as a young child in China under Mao. She suggests that those who believe that a collectivism approach (like China) is the way to go should think twice.

After reading her post what do you think?
